Veteran’s Day is observed on November 11 each year to honor all of those, living and dead, who have served with the US armed forces in times of war and of peace. The holiday was originally called Armistice Day and it commemorated the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. Fighting stopped at 11 a.m., the
11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Vincent Church will honor our veterans with special time of recognition, read the names of those currently on our Military Prayer List, and a prayer at our worship service on November 12. The annual Nutley Veteran’s Ceremony will be held on November 11 at the World
War II Memorial across the street from the church at 11:00. As always, the ceremony begins when we ring our church bell at the 11:00 hour. Let us give thanks for our veterans and pray God’s blessing and guidance upon them.
