 Easter Sunday Worship Services

Vincent United Methodist Church will gather for worship this Easter Sunday morning, April 21, at 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the promise of abundant and eternal life.  The SonRise Service at 7:30 will be held in Philhower Chapel with hymns, scriptures and a dramatic presentation by the youth group entitled “Gospel Carriers.”  This service will be followed by breakfast for all those who attend.  The Resurrection Service at 10:00 will include the Wesley Ringers, music from “Godspell” by the Chancel Choir, the Children’s Choir, an Easter message by Rev. LeDuc entitled “Godspell: Long Live God!” and the “Hallelujah Chorus.” This will be a family Sunday with no Sunday School, but nursery/child care will be available at the 10:00 service.  A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the service.

Holy Week Services

Vincent United Methodist Church will hold special services during Holy Week on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday evenings at 7:30 p.m.  Both services will include music from “Godspell” and related messages by Rev. LeDuc.  The Maundy Thursday Service (April 18) will help worshipers remember the events of Jesus’ Last Supper and his arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane.  The Good Friday Service (April 19) will be a Service of Tenebrae, or “shadows,” will recall the trial and crucifixion of Jesus.  Easter Sunday Services (April 21) celebrating the resurrection of Jesus will be held at 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., with the later service featuring the church choirs, music from “Godspell,” an Easter sermon, and the “Hallelujah Chorus.”  Nursery/child care will be available for all services.

“Godspell” for Lent and Easter!

Vincent Church is presenting a song and sermon series based on the Broadway musical “Godspell” for Lent and Easter!  “Godspell” is a musical written by Stephen Schwartz telling the story of the life of Jesus mostly from the Gospel of Matthew.  Each week in worship, there is the performance of one or two of the songs and a corresponding sermon on themes from the Gospel.  All are welcome.
