CROP Hunger Walk – October 20

The Nutley CROP Walk to help alleviate hunger will take place on Sunday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m., with registration at 12:30.  The walk will be held in the Nutley Oval by the high school.  It is a wonderful family service project.  Walkers commit to completing the walk – rain or shine – and collect money from sponsors before or after they walk.  We hope this will once again be a large community event to help people in need around the world, with 25% of it returning to aid our local community.  If you are interested in being a Walker, please see or contact Rick DeKovessey at 973-667-2404 or register online for the Nutley walk at  “Ending Hunger One Step at a Time.”

“Trunk or Treat” – October 27

Vincent Church will be having a “Trunk or Treat” fundraiser on Sunday afternoon, October 27 from 1-3:00 p.m. in the church south parking lot.  There will be safe trick or treating at over 15 car “trunks,” face painting, a craft, hot chocolate and cookies, all for a modest donation.  All are welcome.

UMW Dinner and Service Auction – November 2

The Vincent United Methodist Women’s Dinner and Service Auction will be held on Saturday evening, November 2 at 5:30.  Following a delicious dinner, the auction will begin at 7:00.  Individuals in the church offer up dinner opportunities, summer homes, services, and skills.  These gifts are auctioned off to raise money for the UMW mission projects.  Tickets for the event can be purchased by contacting the Church Office.

Church School

Vincent United Methodist Church’s Church School has classes for children from age 2 through grade 12 and meets during the worship hour each Sunday.  The curriculum being used is “Deep Blue” featuring Bible stories, a weekly DVD clip, games, crafts, and activities to help children “grow deeper in their faith.”  Children and their families are invited to come any Sunday or to call the Church Office for more information.

Music Notes

Now is an excellent time to join one of the church choirs as we begin a new church year.  The Chancel Choir for youth and adults practices on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m.  The Wesley Ringers handbell choir and the Children’s Choir rehearse on Sunday mornings at 11:30 a.m.    If you’re interested, call the Church Office for more information.
